The HORIZON VHA 118.2SA Processed Active Subwoofer is engineered for high-performance audio in larger venues, delivering an exceptional sound pressure level relative to its size. Featuring a robust 18-inch B&C woofer housed in a bass reflex enclosure constructed from birch plywood, the VHA 118.2SA incorporates a laminar airflow system that enhances acoustic performance. Powered by a 2500-watt Class-D amplifier, it offers six newly developed DSP preset configurations for greater flexibility across applications. The subwoofer’s design has been refined using BEM finite element modelling to optimise the internal load volume, while improvements to the grille and protective mesh have reduced acoustic resistance, resulting in superior output. The HORIZON VHA 118.2SA extends the system’s low-frequency response down to 30 Hz and supports fully ground-stacked arrays using integrated hardware.
